Koda Kumi – Lollipop PV

20 Jun

Koda Kumi is back with a new song. I’ve never been a huge fan of Koda Kumi (I much prefer her ballads to her dance songs. But she always knows how to perform for the limelight. She’s a great performer but I think some of her style choices might not always agree with an audience. Oh well, you can’t be liked by everyone.

So that’s this week’s Oricon Weekly. I’m not really surprised by anything there. I’m really happy for Angela Akisan, because <3. It's definitely great to see that she can still chart in the top 10 of Oricon after all this time! Maybe she will be able to have a long career. I never would have thought it though with her style of music being very middle of the road. I'm a little surprised Kumi is number 1, mainly because I don't think the songs are her best, but I guess that's just how the cookie crumbles :)

Koda Kumi – Alive/Physical Thing

4 Sep

I don’t really like Koda Kumi… Her voice isn’t one that I find very nice to listen to and her style isn’t one that I like. Having said that though, she does release quite good music now and again. Particularly like her Winter themed releases and there were a few good songs on Kingdom. She’s releasing a new single soon (I think she’s trying to beat Ayumi Hamasakisan to most singles released by an artist ever in the whole history of time and space). Alive/Physical Thing is one half ballad and one half dance tune. I prefer the former, because it has some European instruments going on. Kind of like when I heard Christina Milian’s Dip It Low and was like: ‘!!! That has Asian sounds!’; I’m lame, I know.
