T-ara – Bo Peep Bo Peep Traditional Remix @ Music Bank / Win!

2 Jan

T-ara won the first Music Bank award of 2010! I think their win is rather auspicious, their first win on the first day of the first month of the first year of a new decade ^_^ I think it could possibly only be more auspicious if it was the millenium. I still can’t quite believe we were born during a millen you know? Only so many people get to see a new millenium, it’s rather crazy. Anyways. Check out the girls! They did a special performance of Bo Peep Bo Peep, a traditional one inspired by Korean folk music. They also wore hanbok inspired outfits. I love hanboks. I think they’re beautiful. I think they’re more beautiful than kimonos and qipaos and so on (although qipao is traditional compared to kimono and hanboks). I was pleasantly surprised to see their outfits, they looked quite nice I thought. I mean, they’ve obviously been made specifically for them so I wonder who their costume designer is.

Doesn’t Soyeon looks adorable? =^_^=

Plus, the girls are absolutely adorable when they won! They couldn’t stop crying! <3333333333 Don't cry! We all laff you~ Well, Boram didn't cry did she? Boram!!! But I love this! It's so genuine and clearly shows how hard they've been working! I'm so proud of them <3

T-ara – Bo Peep Bo Peep @ Music Core

2 Jan

Fresh from their success on Music Bank with their first award win ~HWAITING~ the girls are back with another performance of Bo Peep. I really love this song now actually <3 The production is a bit rubbish but it's catchy. And don't the girls look amazing in this performance? They're wearing the 19+ video clothes! I've never seen them wear them before, they look really good! Makes a nice change to the weird outfits they normally wear.

2PM – Heartbeat @ SBS Gayo Daejun

29 Dec

2PM (one of my favourite acts this year) continued to wow the audience and hottests by performing a stellar performance of Heartbeat. It was pretty awesome. I know there was much controversy with Jaebeom but they still perform really well!

T-ara & SeeYa & Davichi – TTL & His Voice & 8282 & Women’s Generation

29 Dec

T-ara <3 and SeeYa and Davichi (respected noona and labelmates) performed a joint stage together doing a melody of TTL, His Voice, 8282 and Women's Generation. Was pretty awesome to see all the girls get together, there's a great sense of friendship amongst them don't you think? I have to admit though, boy can SeeYa and Davichi sing compared to T-ara. Granted, they're rookies and the other bands are known for their amazing vocals, but wow. I wish they got more air time then so people could be wowed more. I think it's easy to forget what an amazing voice sounds like when everything is over produced or focused on the dance moves.

SNSD – Gee / Tell Me Your Wish (Genie) @ Music Core Special

27 Dec

Who doesn’t love the holiday season? I love it, it’s great. You get to spend time with our family and get new shiney things and then also there’s a tonne of live performances of your favourite k-pop bands to watch and listen to. What can warm your heart more than dancing along to SNSD’s Gee and/or Tell Me Your Wish (Genie)?

SNSD – Tell Me Your Wish (Genie) @ KBS Christmas Special

24 Dec

The SNSD girls are back with one last performance before Christmas Day. Performing on KBS, they sang their hit single, Tell Me Your Wish. The girls never really fail to be great so what can I say? I definitely think this year has been their year and well deservedly so. I’ve always loved SNSD (if it wasn’t for T-ara, they’d still be my favourite band), when the SNSD girls were debuting along with Wonder Girls’ surge in fame, I always <3 SNSD.

Anyways, I'd also like to take the time to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy holiday ^_^

SNSD – Gee @ Snow Village

23 Dec

Awww, I think Korea does a really nice job of celebrating Christmas. Everywhere is full of special stages and Christmas renditions of our favourite songs. So, to everyone’s favourite girlband, SNSD performing Gee (arguably my favourite song of the year).

After School – Because of You @ Inkigayo

23 Dec

After School are definitely the SNSD of Winter. Awww, bless em. I don’t like Because of You as much as Gee or Tell Me Your Wish (Genie) but it’s pretty perfect for the end of the year ^_^

T-ara – Bo Peep Bo Peep @ Inkigayo Christmas Version

23 Dec

Sorry for not posting in a while, you know how the holiday season is. I’m actually in Scotland at the moment with my boyfriend and his family. Everything’s amazing! His family are so lovely and it’s been snowing loads! I’ll have to take loads of photos. The weather in the UK has been pretty horrendous (only travelling wise). It looks beautiful but driving, flying, walking etc. is nigh impossible. Which makes me very worried cause I’m meant to be travelling on Boxing Day. Hrm.

Anyway, to cheer me and you and everyone up I’m posting T-ara’s Bo Peep Bo Peep performance on Inkigayo. Tis very cute and festive cause the girls are all wearing Christmas outfits! <3 Boram's polar bear mitten ^_^ hehe. Check it out~

The peach 愛 End of Year Music Awards 2009 Part 1

18 Dec

So, I thought I’d post my own End of Year Music Award list ^_^ This is just my own opinions but I thought it’d be fun. So, without further ado~

Favourite Korean Artist

Winner – T-ara

T-ara are definitely my favourite k-pop artist at the moment. I like them over other favourites, SNSD, Wonder Girls, 2PM and so on. It’s for a few reasons. Firstly, Good Person (their unofficial debut) is a great song. It’s a great ballad that really showed the girls can sing. I think sometimes the k-pop world is all about great pop music and the concept, but they forget the singing. It’s clear to me that T-ara has members that can out sing many other members of bands. That brings me neatly on to Soyeon. I *love* Soyeon. She’s a fantastic singer and is amazingly beautiful. Plus, she’s an 87er and that’s the same as me! When I found out that she got dropped from SNSD because she was an 87er then I just loved her even more. She’s definitely my favourite~ Lastly, they have great songs. Good Person, Lies, TTL, TTL Listen 2, Apple is A, Like The First Time, Bo Peep Bo Peep, that’s 7 songs they’ve released and all of them are great and that’s not to mention their album. The girls aren’t afraid to change their concept and I think they work harder than any other band at the moment. I have so much respect for them. This is the year of T-ara~

Notable mentions – SNSD, Ivy, 2PM, Chae Yeon

Favourite Korean Song

Winner – SNSD – Gee

Gee is by far my most played song ever. It has probably 500+ hits (I’ve had to reformat my computer a couple of times). It’s so insanely catchy and the dance routine is hilariously good. I want to learn it ;_; I want to bust out some moves walking along the street. You know you have that song you listen to and suddenly you find yourself skipping down the street as if you’re 7 years old and it’s Summer? Gee does this to me :)

Notable mentions – T-ara & Supernova – TTL Listen 2, Chae Yeon – Shake, 2PM – Heartbeat, Ivy – Touch Me

Stay tuned for my personal favourites from the J-pop world and the C-pop world; what are your favourite 2009 artists?
