SeeYa & Davichi & T-ara – Wonder Woman @ Inkigayo

17 Jan

The special collaboration group, featuring the vocal talents of SeeYa, Davichi and T-ara have just performed Wonder Woman on Inkigayo. The live performance is quite amazing to watch because the girls sing so well. A lot of the time I watch the live stages for the performance (costumes, cheography, charisma etc.) but not necessarily the singing. But every member of this special group can sing amazingly well.

T-ara – Bo Peep Bo Peep @ Inkigayo

17 Jan

T-ara have achieved something that not many newly debuted groups manage to do. They’ve just achieved their third consecutive Inkigayo award! How awesome is that? Hwaiting! I’m so proud of the girls. Check out their performance below and their victory and encore. They’re always so gracious.

2PM – Heartbeat & Tired of Waiting @ Music Bank Goodbye Stage

15 Jan

Awww, the 2PM guys are wrapping up promotions of 1:59PM and held a special goodbye stage of Heartbeat and Tired of Waiting. 1:59PM was definitely one of my favourite albums from 2009 so it’s a bit sad to see the guys finally stop promoting Heartbeat. But I guess they finally need a break. Definitely going to miss their Heartbeat stages though – they were awesome!

HyunA – Change @ Music Bank

15 Jan

HyunA continues promotions of her first solo singl, Change, on Music Bank. I wonder if she regrets leaving Wonder Girls (not that she had a choice). She’d be making such different music now; instead of edgy pop music, she’d be making 60s inspired tweenish pop music. Quite a big difference don’t you think? I guess maybe she’s happier performing the edgier stuff. I think she looks really like Jolin Tsai here though.

CN Blue – I’m A Loner @ Music Bank

15 Jan

A new boy band have just debuted on Music Bank, called CN Blue (I don’t know why?). I think they’re a great fresh air for the K-pop scene! Moving away from the slick production values of the past few years (where everyone raps, sings and dances to perfection), these guys are a little less polished but they sing live and play instruments instead of dancing. I know, it doesn’t sound like such a big deal but goodluck to them! They seem to be setting the scene on fire, a bit like Younha did when she was starting out. I really enjoyed the performance, the song is well catchy! although it sounds very familiar… a bit like 2009’s Eurovision Song Contest Winner (check out the video below).

T-ara – Bo Peep Bo Peep @ Music Bank

15 Jan

Despite stating that they would be commencing promotion of Like The First Time tonight, T-ara earlier performed Bo Peep again on Music Bank. Not that I think anyone is complaining; I think all the fans that voted for Like The First Time have been won over by the catchy refrain, myself included. Plus, I guess Core Contents didn’t want to stop promotions right in the middle of Bo Peep winning the girls their first set of awards. Sadly however, tonight marked any end to the success as they came in second. Still, with a the collaboration with SeeYa & Davichi and promotions of Like The First Time, I beat they’ll be winning even more awards soon!

SeeYa & Davichi & T-ara – Wonder Woman MV

15 Jan

The three groups that brought Women’s Generation to tv stations about 6 months ago are back to set the stage on fire again with a new offering. With different members of T-ara this time round, the girls have gotten together to sing Wonder Woman. The song is pretty catchy, and sounds quite similar to Women’s Generation, but also different. It’s a bit of a shame that T-ara, one of the hottest bands at the moment, don’t have such a big role in this collaboration. But I understand that SeeYa and Davichi have been around for a lot longer. Still, would have been nice to see the T-ara girls rock it up like we all know they can.

Do you think it’ll be a hit?

HyunA – Change MV

14 Jan

HyunA is everyone’s favourite ex-Wonder Girl, 4Muzik rookie (or are 4Muzik no longer rookies?) solo star who is rocking on up the charts with her debut single, Change. Complete with a rather salacious dance routine, HyunA’s performances have got everyone in a tizzy. The MV is also pretty raunchy and certain broadcasters are putting age restrictions up on it. This annoys me though… because there are some performers who do not have such provocative dance routines but their MVs get banned for other reasons. I think a dance routine can be far more revealing than a short skirt. Regardless, it’s a pretty cool MV.

peach ai Version 2.0

14 Jan

Hi everyone ^_^ Time for one of those rare things, a personal post about me and not about Asian pop culture. Pretty rare, I know but hopefully slightly interesting nonetheless. Just wanted to introduce the new blog layout to everyone. It’s been a long time coming right? But I thought a new year needs a new layout.

This layout was inspired by different things. I design like this a lot. I like natural flowing shapes and movement in my artwork, so I often design banners with this also in mind. Also, I wanted a white background because I figured the peach coloured one from before was not only very hard to read for some people, but also very selfish on my part.

What does everyone think? I quite like it. I’m not sure if the peach logo on the right gets lost a bit, I think it does. But I also quite like the clutter of the design. It’s like two designs really, and maybe they don’t go well together. Also, I still don’t completely understand wordpress’s css, but it’ll have to do. I like it for now. Gambatte!

Cheryl Cole & will.i.am – 3 Words MV

11 Jan

So, I know I’m late but just wanted to blog about Cheryl Cole’s latest song, 3 Words. It features will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas and well, the song isn’t amazing. In fact, I don’t think Cheryl Cole is amazing. She’s not my favourite Girls Aloud member but her solo effort has been enjoyable. The song is a thumping, pulsing electro pop song that to me, sounds much more sadder than Cole would ever be happy with. Anyways, the video is exquisite. It’s amazing. I’ve not seen such an intersting for ages. Forget Lady Gaga’s works, check it out. It’s simple but artistic and really highlights the loneliness I think this song is actually about.
