T-ara & Supernova – T.T.L @ M! Countdown

17 Sep

Sooooooooo, possibly my favourite Korean girl group T-ara are baaaack ^_^ Yay! I know what you’re thinking, “Really? T-ara? Tiara? Them? Them with their little hobbit singer?” But yeah! I really <3 them! I don't know why… they just seem to be working really hard and not giving up despite them not having the biggest debut. They also have really good voices and are trying to forge their way without the catchiest of pop songs. They just performed their live debut with Supernova on M! Countdown and… my opinion…

Well, I love it! They've come so far from Good Person Ver. 1. I mean, they’ve had to totally change the band members, change their concepts and looks and are now working really hard. I have lots of respect for people that keep working and working. I’m not sure if they’ll ever be super famous, but I already feel like they’ve come so far from their debut and I think they’ll just keep going and going ^_^ They’re much more professional in this performance than their live debut of Lies

Mika Nakashima – Candy Girl

17 Sep

Mika Nakashima is releasing a new song at the end of the month called Candy Girl. No PV yet, but the audio sounds pretty cool! It reminds me a bit of Pixie Lott… I’m not sure if that’s good or bad?

T-ara & Supernova – T.T.L MV

15 Sep

So, I heard about the upcoming special collab between management mates T-ara and Supernova. I was a bit skepticle at first, I mean I love T-ara but they haven’t debuted to the most sizzling of reviews. However, oh em gee! Look at this! It’s awesome! I have to say, T-ara have grown up! Obviously, sexy girl groups with rap are a dime a dozen at the moment, and I guess their management is thinking, well if you can’t beat em, join em. But! I do think the members of T-ara have some of the strongest vocals in the K-pop girl group scene at the moment (which you can still hear on T.T.L so I’m very excited! Go go T-ara!

deviantART is GO!

15 Sep

So, I’ve done what I’ve wanted to do for a long time and set up a deviantart account ^_^ Check out my first couple of pieces here http://peachai.deviantart.com/. I hope I’ll be able to work lots and lots. Awesome.

Final Fantasy Dissidia

12 Sep

So I recently got given Final Fatnasy Dissidia on the PSP by my boyfriend (<3). Awesomeness! He actually got me the Collector's Edition which is even more awesome! It's pretty fun, it's a bit like Super Smash Bros or an arena based fighting/mash em up but with RPG elements thrown in. I will say, it’s darn confusing. I have no idea what’s going on and the ingame tutorials are basically: “Hey! This is a really cool thing but it’s a bit complicated so only look it up if you want to” and then you go look it up and you’re none the wiser. I’m also a bit gutted that they don’t have my favourite characters in there (I mean, what happened to Yuna or Tifa or Ashe or Penelo. Granted, I can understand why Tifa might not be there as Cloud is very much the protagonist of FF7, but Yuna kicks Tidus’s butt anyday). It’s pretty cool and feels very immersive. I’m going to go play it now ^_^

Below is the intro fmv which I made me :O It’s pretty cool! Reminds me a lot of the Dead Fantasy fanvids. But with more boys.

Sandara – Kiss (feat. CL) CF Video

12 Sep

So, Sandara’s debut solo single’s CF video has been released! She’s promoting Cass beer with Lee Min Ho as her love interest in the video. It looks pretty cool. Sandara can be both very cute and like a little pokemon but also very fierce and like a baracuda. I think what happens is she’s tired of Lee Min Ho’s rogueish ways and thinks: “Well, fine! I’m going to put on my 2NE1 gladrags and take control”. I think that’s what 2NE1’s message is about – girl powah!

f(x) – LA chA TA @ Music Bank

12 Sep

f(x) continue their debut with another professional performance of their hit new song LA chA TA (why it’s written like that I have no idea). As always, they’re on it! And by on it I mean their vocals are good, their dance moves are sharp and their overall presence exudes confidence and charisma. How’d they get to be so professional so fast? I guess SM Entertainment has learnt a lot after debuting so many acts and knows how to put out a group who are so professional they don’t look like rookies. Compare these performances to T-ara’s and you can totally see my point.

Although I do think that the songs sound really similar to something else… The intro song that they perform is just Pussy Cat Doll’s When I Grow Up; LA chA TA sounds like a 90s/80s pop song, but maybe that’s just because it’s good.

Sandara – Kiss (feat. CL)

8 Sep

I never really liked 2NE1. I know their they’re the biggest rookies at the moment and have had a pretty amazing debut, but there’s something that I don’t quite like about them. I guess it’s because I like my K-pop with extra sugar, and the 2NE1 girls come with extra spice ;D Anyways, I do like their I Don’t Care song. But, Sandara is releasing a solo single called Kiss. It also features a rap from CL. My opinion..? I wouldn’t be blogging about it if I didn’t like it! It’s much less… squeaky.

Koreans Love Whitney!

8 Sep

So, I was reading allkpop and reading about f(x)’s Luna singing Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing. This isn’t the first time I’ve heard a Korean singer sing this song though! Furthermore, sadly, it’s not the best version I’ve heard it either. Check out her version below:

Granted, it’s a pretty good performance but I think this ten-year-old girl from Star King is just as good:

Lastly, I think this is the best performance!

Where in the world is Ji Eun? I loved her album, especially Rain but she seems to have been hidden away again by YG. I think Ji Eun has probably the best voice I have ever heard from a K-pop star; I think it’s a bit of an injustice she’s not more famous.

Lastly, I thought I’d post a clip of Leona Lewis singing this from X Factor. For those that don’t know, X Factor is like American Idol; Leona won it and that’s how she became famous. Her performance is pretty awesome.

Cheryl Cole – Fight for This Love

7 Sep

This weekend has been rather eventful for new music in the UK. Leona Lewis, Robbie Williams and now Cheryl Cole. Cheryl Cole is part of Girls Aloud (<3) and a judge on X Factor but is going solo and her debut solo single is called Fight for This Love. It actually premiered this morning and… I quite like it! Her voice doesn’t sound as weak as it does in Girls Aloud or on will.i.am’s Heartbreaker. The single is pretty catchy, it’s like a Girls Aloud’s song but also not. Chorus is really catchy. I doubt if it will get to number 1; it doesn’t feel like a number 1… but definitely top 3. Bring on Nadine though.
