Wonder Girls – 2 Different Tears Live on Inkigayo

23 May

Out of all the music shows K-pop fans can watch, Inkigayo has always been my favourite. Perhaps because it’s the last one of the week (it’s shown on Sundays) or perhaps because I always think the stages are more dramatic which in turn means the performers give it an extra 10%. Wonder Girls’ performance of 2 Different Tears on Inkigayo did nothing to change my mind on which of the music shows is the best.

The audience was amazing and whilst their performance wasn’t as polished as much as other acts (SNSD and 2PM spring to mind in giving absolutely flawless live performances), the Girls really bring something different to the stage. They all have unique personalities and they perform as entertainers – not just singers or dancers. I think the Wonder Girls are something unique in the K-pop industry, a band that aren’t afraid to be themselves and collaborate with their management on their career. May the Wonder Girls forever be together~! hwaiting! Although I’m sad they won’t be performing this in Korea for much longer :(

SNSD – Oh! @ Inkigayo

9 Feb

Apologies for my absent postings as of late, with my new job, I’m always so busy ^_^ but I do miss blogging and the k-pop scene. Gotta keep up with it!

I’ve been listening to a bit of SNSD’s new album, and I quite like the single, Oh! Still can’t get over how similar it sounds to Rihanna though, but that’s old news. Check out their performance of Oh! on Inkigayo recently!

CN Blue – I’m a Loner @ Inkigayo

17 Jan

Of all the recent debuts by bands, CN Blue just might be my favourite. They offer something different and interesting to the K-pop world. There’s not a dance routine in sight! I love their style and sound that they’re going for. It’s nothing new musically, but it’s a nice change from the K-pop world at the moment (not that I’m complaining, I love me some K-pop).

SeeYa & Davichi & T-ara – Wonder Woman @ Inkigayo

17 Jan

The special collaboration group, featuring the vocal talents of SeeYa, Davichi and T-ara have just performed Wonder Woman on Inkigayo. The live performance is quite amazing to watch because the girls sing so well. A lot of the time I watch the live stages for the performance (costumes, cheography, charisma etc.) but not necessarily the singing. But every member of this special group can sing amazingly well.

T-ara – Bo Peep Bo Peep @ Inkigayo

17 Jan

T-ara have achieved something that not many newly debuted groups manage to do. They’ve just achieved their third consecutive Inkigayo award! How awesome is that? Hwaiting! I’m so proud of the girls. Check out their performance below and their victory and encore. They’re always so gracious.

Younha – I Broke Up Today @ Inkigayo

11 Jan

Younha is one of my K-pop stars. In fact, after BoA she is the second Korean artist I got into (mostly because I loved J-pop at the moment and she was making a few headwaves in the J-pop scene). Younha has an amazing voice, possibly my favourite after Soyeon’s, but she doesn’t always have hits. Recently she contracted swine flu, and has subsequently fainted twice! Younha! Go rest! You’re so poorly, you should rest lots <3

Ivy – Goodbye Tears @ Inkigayo

11 Jan

Why isn’t Ivy getting more recognition? I know about the controversy from before, but she’s back with a great album and a voice that is better than 80% of the K-pop world at the moment. I know she covets controversy too (poor Nichkhun) but she has so much talent. I feel bad for her. Anyways, she actually has a new song to promote. Goodbye Tear is a beautiful ballad and she really shows off her softer side.

Jewelry – Love Story @ Inkigayo

11 Jan

Bye bye Jewelry <3 don't shed tears~

2PM – Tired of Waiting @ Inkigayo

11 Jan

One of my favourite songs from last year was 2PM’s Heartbreaker (listen to my heart beat, it’s beating for you!). They’re back with a song that sounds very Timabland-esque if you ask me. I’m not sure if I like it more than their last song but I quite like it. The song has minimal production, but that obviously means it’s been produced to within an inch of its life. Actually, it’s not Timbaland, it reminds me exactly of Black Eyed Peas – Boom Boom Pow :O The backing track is so similar!

BEAST – Mystery @ Inkigayo

11 Jan

I’ve never heard this song until today, I quite like it! It’s catchy and very poppy. *bounces along* mystery mystery mystery mystery! I’m so lame sometimes… I think it’s because I’ve barely been out the past week or so, been too ill ;_; Anyways, check out the performance below. They remind me a little of Verbal from m-flo.
