SNSD – Tell Me Your Wish (Genie) & Gee @ Melon Music Awards 2009

17 Dec

SNSD gave a pretty awesome performance of Tell Me Your Wish and Gee at the Melon Music Awards! It’s awesome to see that the girls still can be cute and innocent (Gee) whilst being sexy and vampish (Tell Me Your Wish). <3 Yoona~

SNSD & Super Junior – Seoul Song MV 2

15 Dec

Everyone loves a bit of SNSD and Super Junior! The two bands have been winning awards left right and centre as the year comes to a close. But they’re also joining together to perform a very special song; a song to promote Seoul and South Korea ^_^ I really like the song, and the MV is really cute ^_^ Check it out~

SNSD & Super Junior – Seoul Song MV

9 Dec

Ooo, new SNSD and Super Junior! As part of a promotional move from Korea’s Ministry of Culture, the two bands joined together to release a song all about South Korea’s capital, Seoul! Seoul is definitely a world city up there with Tokyo, Beijing, London, New York, Paris, Berlin and on and on. The song is really nice, I especially like the SNSD parts – it’s a cute song. It’s not exactly Christmasy, but I can see why it fits this time of year. The MV is really cute too – hehe, gotta love SNSD and Super Junior acting eh? Very excited :D ~S E O U L~

~ Please note, SM Entertainment keep taking down the videos for this, so I don’t know how long the link will work for. Apologies ^_^

SNSD – Tell Me Your Wish (Genie) Live @ Jejudo Special Music Core Stage

6 Dec

Everyone’s favourite girlband, SNSD, are back! Long after promotions for Tell Me Your Wish (Genie) have finished, they’re back for Music Core’s special stage at Jeju. And, what has all that time off done? Well it’s made them even better performers! They give a pretty great performance and all looked pretty awesome. I do miss SNSD, and they’re my friend’s favourite band. But, I <3 T-ara more, alas ^_^;

Girls’ Generation – Tell Me Your Wish (Genie) @ Dream Concert

12 Oct

Well well well, the current queens of K-pop gave an awesome performance of Tell Me Your Wish at Dream Concert. Gotta say, this is probably the best performance of the night (although not my favourite, yay T-ara!). I don’t really know what else to say other than they are super polished and don’t do anything wrong. And, they have fireworks. <3!

Girls’ Generation – Tell Me Your Wish (Genie) @ Asia Song Contest 2009

25 Sep

The highlight for me from the Asia Song Contest is SNSD! Whew~! Aside from T-ara, they are my favourite K-pop group. I know, Wonder Girls started it all but even back in the day, I always preferred Girls’ Generation compared to Tell Me or Hot. And then comparing Gee to Nobody, well, SNSD wins hands down! So I was excited to see their performance and they really do give a great performance. I don’t know what else to say, they perform so professionally now that it’s really hard to criticise them.

f(x) – Lachata

4 Sep

I’m a bit slow with this but SM Entertainment are debuting a new girl group called f(x) (don’t ask me what it means… it’s complicated and about flowers and xx chromosomes or something). I’ve not really listened to this group properly yet… but this song seems preeeeetty cool. I don’t think it has the same catchyness as Girls’ Generation’s Gee or Tell Me Your Wish but for a debut song, I think it’s not half decent. Besides, they’re with SM Entertainment who are, for me, the leading entertainment managers in Korea at the moment (BoA, Girls’ Generation, Tohoshinki???). Sometimes they make a couple of mistakes… I think maybe they think they can make no bad choices, but they do… ahem… Anyways! Krystal (sister of SNSD’s Jessica) and Victoria (leader of the band) are my favourites ^_^

Girls’ Generation – Gee

11 Apr

So, I’ve loved J-pop and C-pop for a few years now, but there’s a certain kind of pop music that’s getting my feet tapping. No, not Icelandic pop music, K-pop (Korean)! Korea definitely has one of the coolest, trendiest [insert superlative here] cultures at the moment. Korean cinema is arguably the coolest and most innovative (along side, say… Spanish cinema).

Not merely a country with awesome films (Lady Vengeance being one of my favourite movies of all time), it also has pretty awesome pop music. This isn’t necessarily music that is new, progressive or slick. It’s pop music at it’s cutest bubbliness! What could be more cute than 9 Korean girls bouncing around and singing ‘Gee gee gee gee gee gee’ over the place? It’s awesome~
